Quarterdeck provides maritime staff to the flotilla and charter sailing industry. We're the exclusive partner of The Yacht Week. Based in London, our young, skilled team extends globally during the event season. This role is London-based in the off-season and Croatia-based during the summer.

The Role
Support the QD Operations Manager in Quarterdeck's operations. Responsibilities include recruitment, academy management, and operational assignments of skippers and hosts.
Quarterdeck Job Deliverables:
Winter/Spring:
- Planning & Recruitment: Manage applications, interviews, and course content.
- QD Communication: Monitor email and social media accounts, and respond to queries.
- Academy Prep and Logistics: Plan accommodation, venues, transport, and bookings.
- Roster Management: Assign staff efficiently and ensure clear task understanding.
- QD Special Events: Plan and prepare for the Quarterdeck Regatta and Reunion.
- Staff Scheduler: Maintain the staff schedule and TYW Summer Management Sheets.
Summer:
- In-Season Roster Management: Assign TYW and Private Charter skippers & hosts.
- Reward & Recognition: Plan gestures to show appreciation and loyalty.
- Private Charter: Issue assignments for Skippers and Hosts.
- Invoice Processing: Check invoices, ensure accuracy, and approve manually items.
- Damage Reporting: Report and escalate potential yacht technical issues.
- Communication: Improve the feedback loop between staff and management.
- Check-In / Check Out: Provide on-the-ground support for TYW events in Croatia.
Year-Round:
- Relationship building: Maintain strong relationships with clients and partners.
- Financial: Track assignments, invoicing, and financial reporting.
- Customer service: Manage communication with students, graduates, and clients.
- Event Management: Plan and execute QD and TYW events to build community spirit.
Key Stakeholders:
- Marketing: Support online campaigns and sales targets.
- Operations: Assist with yacht sourcing and Charter Company liaison.
- Customer Service: Handle booking changes and accommodation-related issues.
- Board & CEO: Provide required reporting.
- Finance: Support budgeting, pricing, and payment processing.
Skills and Background:
Essential Skills:
- 1-year experience managing relationships and contracts.
- Experience with complex logistical challenges.
- Minimum 1 year of maritime industry experience.
- Budget management experience.
Desirable Skills:
- Excel Level 3.
- Commercial agreement management.
Remuneration:
- Salary: On application.
- 23 days of annual leave (excluding Bank Holidays).

- London Office: Flexible working.
Probationary Period:
A 3-month probationary period will assess suitability and skill levels.
Travel and Working:
Based in Croatia from April to September. Additional travel may be required for boat shows, recruitment drives, and other events. Candidates must have the right to live in either the UK or Europe.
