The head office in London, UK is run by a team of highly-skilled, highly social, engaging and passionate individuals who put making friends and exploring the world at the heart of everything they do. While we are just over 30 people working full-time all year, the team extends to hundreds more over the event season from all over the world.

The role is an intern position that is based in Croatia.

Content Marketing Intern

This is a chance for you to get your creativity seen by making content for a leading global travel event brand. As our Content Marketing Intern you will be a core support to the team over the Summer in Croatia . You will work closely with the Marketing Manager & Executive day-to-day to execute our strategy over the summer season on site in Croatia, leading into our key sales period. With high output across social media (Instagram and TikTok), getting up to speed with best practice principles in those channels, our content management & creative systems is key to success. 

Being on the ground, the Marketing Team will be relying on you not only for your ability to capture mobile content based on an agreed strategy but to identify additional opportunities which will drive our marketing ambitions forward. 

We are looking for a passionate, personable, fun-loving creative: someone who sees the opportunity at Yacht Week to bring cool, hype worthy stories to life to the best of their ability. This person is a responsible team player who is collaborative and sees a future working professionally within the creative industries. 

Tasks will include but not be limited to:

Content Creation 

  • Idea generation: Work with the Marketing team to define the content plan whilst on route 
  • Real time content capture & posting: Working with the Social Team, you will capture an agreed list of mobile content to be used on Yacht Week social channels. For example, daily Instagram stories. You will be expected to work from an agreed strategy but also pick up on organic moments on event.  Plus at least two TikToks a day to keep the channel growing.
  • Future Content bank: Capture a content bank for use on future social posts based on a brief worked through with the marketing team.

Marketing day-to-day:

  • Owned Community management: You will support the Social team managing our principal social channels, mainly Instagram & Tik Tok. Replying to comments on any content that you post.
  • Growing TikTok: You will use your native social understanding to drive growth of our community on TikTok. 
  • MVP (Most valuable player) Guests: Using your access to our guests, help the marketing team forge relationships with potential influential guest advocates both ahead of arriving on route & on trip itself. 
  • Photographer & Videographer liaison: You will help liaise with photographers & videographers on route, meeting them and chaperoning them along the route to make sure they are where they need to be, escalating any problems to the Content Manager & ensuring they deliver on time.

Output & Event Management 

  • Activation support: You will be expected to help the ops team organise any marketing on site activations.
  • Partnership & media team support: At times we will be required to shoot product placement content for our partners and owned channels. You will need to make sure the right people are given the correct product and to organise the shoot on site, as well as manage the assigned videographers/photographers on the shoot per delivered brief. 
  • Weekly wraps: Sending a 5 point email to your marketing team with your intel from the week: any trouble spots, guest highlights, any thoughts on opportunities to capture for the following week; any possible advocate guests to follow up with.

Essential Skills

  • Instagram & Tik Tok content production 
  • Social & mobile first creativity which will provide a fresh, ownable feel to YW comms
  • Good understanding of successful social & mobile first content creation principles 
  • Demonstrated proactivity in a content production based environment 
  • Demonstrated experience of working in a team & delivering to a brief 
  • Good communication & interpersonal people skills
  • Capable to work remotely

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of growing a Instagram or Tik Tok channel to over 10k followers 
  • Experience of copywriting or blogging 
  • Experience of working with social management systems (e.g. Canva, Later) 
  • Demonstrated experience in a production/festival focused marketing role 
  • Experience working into a marketing team 

What’s included & Salary: 

  • Up to 400€/week - Dependent on experience
  • Accommodation for duration of internship spent on site in Croatia
  • Reasonable weekly food allowance 
  • Transport to locations on route as necessary
  • The successful candidate will be expected to make their way to the London office and the Croatia office in Split.
