FAQs

Where does Yacht Week Greece Original start and finish?

It's a round trip from the Athens Riviera, boarding Saturday afternoon and returning to the same marina Friday afternoon. Most yachts depart from Alimos Marina, with a small number from Agios Kosmas Marina ten minutes away; yours is confirmed in the Key Info section of your booking. Fly in and out of Athens International Airport (ATH).

How do I get from Athens Airport to Alimos Marina?

Alimos Marina is 30 to 40 minutes from Athens Airport by taxi, about €35 to €50. We recommend pre-booking your taxi at least 24 hours ahead for a flat rate and to avoid the queue.

  • Bus: the X96 express runs from the airport to Alimos Marina every 20 to 30 minutes, 24 hours a day. About 60 to 70 minutes, €6.

  • Metro and tram: Metro Line 3 to Syntagma, then tram T3 or T4 to Loutra Alimou. About 60 minutes, around €10.

Which islands does Greece Original visit?

From Athens the fleet sails to Poros, then Hydra, then Ermioni on the Peloponnese coast, before returning to Athens. Expect cliffside caves and secluded bays for swimming between stops. Exact stops are confirmed in the Yacht Week app and can change with the weather.

Do I need sailing experience for Yacht Week Greece?

No. Every yacht comes with a professional skipper who handles all the sailing, mooring and anchoring. Join in during the regatta if you want to, or don't touch a rope all week.

What's included in the price of Yacht Week Greece, and what's extra?

Included: seven nights on your yacht, a professional skipper, all events and parties, DJs, final cleaning, linen and towels, and the dinghy. All cabin categories except Classic Monohull also include a host and on-board food (six breakfasts, six lunches, two dinners).

Extra: flights and airport transfer, food and drink on the yacht (unless you're on a cabin booking with a host), the cash kitty your skipper collects on day one (port fees, fuel, water, shore power, water taxis and the refundable deposit, with anything unspent returned), eating and drinking out, dinners for your skipper and host, crew tips, and optional activities.

Can I book Yacht Week Greece on my own or as a pair?

Yes. Book a cabin and you'll join a yacht of six to eight guests with an even gender ratio. You'll meet your yachtmates, skipper and host in the Yacht Week app about two weeks before departure. Groups of five or more usually book a full yacht.

How is Yacht Week Greece different from Croatia?

Croatia is the original route, with the biggest fleet and the biggest parties, sailing a tight cluster of islands with medieval walled towns. Greece is more spread out, with whitewashed harbour towns, longer passages between stops and a stronger beach-club feel. Greece also runs a shorter season, July and August only.

When is the best time to sail Yacht Week Greece?

Greece Original runs July and August only, weeks 27 to 33. Early July is the quietest and has the widest availability; August is peak. Prices by week are shown on the route page.

Is food included on Yacht Week Greece?

Not always. Cabin bookings in every category except Classic Monohull include a host who cooks six breakfasts, six lunches and two dinners, with the food included. Classic Monohull cabins and full yacht bookings don't include food. Full yacht bookings can add a host, but the host's fee doesn't cover the food, so you'll still need to provision the yacht.

What time is check-in and check-out on Greece Original?

Boarding is from 4pm Saturday; your skipper confirms the exact time and meeting point in the Yacht Week app. Complete online check-in before you travel or you may be refused boarding. The fleet returns to Athens Friday around 3 to 4pm; you can sleep on board Friday night but must leave by 8am Saturday. Book flights home for Friday evening or Saturday.

How do I get my provisions for the week on the Greece Routes?

There are small supermarkets near the marina; however, we strongly recommend pre-ordering your provisions for the week online. This will save you time, money and a big hassle of getting a large order of groceries to your yacht. The online shops will provide delivery directly to your yacht.

If you have a host, please speak with them before ordering any food, as they will prepare a menu catered to your group. If you don’t have a host and shopping for a whole week/crew feels overwhelming, use this shopping list as guidance; it will make sure you won't miss out on any essentials.

Is there luggage storage at the marina on the Greece routes?

You can leave your luggage at storage in Alimos Marina for €5 a day, per bag. This has limited space so alternatively you can leave it at Left Luggage Athens in the Centre.

What is the average age, and is there an age restriction?

The average age of our guests is 30; however, we have a range of attendees varying from 20 to the late 30s and beyond.

Please note that the minimum age to join our events is 20 (or at least 20 years old in the year of travel).

We are confident that, regardless of your age, you will have a memorable time on the water!

What travel documents do I need?

We cannot advise you on which documents you will need, as this depends on your nationality and the country you live in.
