Ashley, PF

Orlagh and Casey were absolutely amazing during our week in Tahiti. Every event was carefully planned, and our meals were coordinated perfectly. They were also an amazing vibe to be around.

Stephanie, US

It was the trip of a lifetime! I would have never been able to see French Polynesia the way I did with Yacht Week! Everything was planned out for us in the best way.

Leslie, US

My crew and I did the French Polynesian route in April 2022, and it was amazing! We loved it so much, we booked the NYE BVI route while in Tahiti. The boat was great, activities, dinners, all of it.

FAQs

Does Yacht Week Tahiti actually start in Tahiti?

No. Yacht Week Tahiti departs from Raiatea Marina on Raiatea, about 200km northwest of Tahiti in the Society Islands. You fly into Tahiti (Papeete) and take a short onward flight or ferry to Raiatea. It's a round trip, so you return to Raiatea at the end of the week.

How do I get to Raiatea Marina?

Fly into Faa'a International Airport (PPT) in Papeete, then take either a 30-minute Air Tahiti flight to Raiatea Airport (RFP), which runs frequently and costs around $100, or the two-hour ferry from Papeete to Raiatea, around $60. From Raiatea Airport the marina is a short taxi or shuttle ride. You book the onward leg yourself.

Which islands does Yacht Week Tahiti visit?

From Raiatea the fleet sails to Huahine, Taha'a and Bora Bora, in that order, before returning to Raiatea. Huahine for the lagoon snorkelling, Taha'a for its vanilla plantations and pearl farms, Bora Bora for Matira Beach and the Bora Bora Yacht Club. Exact stops are confirmed in the Yacht Week app and can change with the weather.

What's the snorkelling like on Yacht Week Tahiti, and do I need my own kit?

Coral reefs, rays and tropical fish in the lagoons at Huahine and Bora Bora, plus motu stops for reef snorkelling in open water. You can snorkel on your own or join a guided trip, paid locally. Masks and fins can be hired from the charter company when you arrive, or bring your own.

Is Yacht Week Tahiti a party route?

Less than Croatia, more than you'd expect. There's a night at Bora Bora Yacht Club, tropical-themed parties and the circle raft, but the week leans towards snorkelling, lagoon sailing and Polynesian culture: pearl farm and rum distillery tours, a traditional feast and Polynesian games.

What's the weather like in French Polynesia in April?

Hot and humid, around 26 to 29°C with the sea at about 28°C. April is the end of the wet season, so expect a few short, heavy showers during the week, usually passing quickly, with plenty of sunshine in between.

Do I need sailing experience for Yacht Week Tahiti?

No. Every yacht comes with a professional skipper who handles all the sailing, mooring and navigating the reef passes. Join in if you want to, or don't touch a rope all week.

What's included in the price of Yacht Week Tahiti, and what's extra?

Included: seven nights on your yacht, a professional skipper, all events and parties, DJs, final cleaning, linen and towels, and the dinghy. Premium Catamaran cabin bookings also include a host and on-board food (six breakfasts, six lunches, two dinners).

Extra: flights including the onward hop to Raiatea, food and drink on the yacht for full yacht bookings, the cash kitty your skipper collects on day one (port fees, fuel, water, water taxis and the refundable deposit, with anything unspent returned), eating and drinking out, dinners for your skipper and host, crew tips, snorkel hire, and all activities ashore: pearl farm and rum distillery tours, the Polynesian feast, ATV and jet ski tours.

Is food included on Yacht Week Tahiti?

Only on cabin bookings. Premium Catamaran cabins, the only cabin category on this route, include a host who cooks six breakfasts, six lunches and two dinners. Full yacht bookings don't include food; you can add a host, but the host's fee doesn't cover the food, and you'll provision the yacht near the marina on the first day.

Can I book Yacht Week Tahiti on my own or as a pair?

Yes. Book a Premium Catamaran cabin and you'll join a yacht of six to eight guests with an even gender ratio. You'll meet your yachtmates, skipper and host in the Yacht Week app about two weeks before departure. Groups usually book a full yacht.

When does Yacht Week Tahiti run?

Two consecutive weeks in April, weeks 15 and 16. Prices by week are shown on the route page.

Do I need a visa for French Polynesia?

French Polynesia has its own entry requirements, which differ from mainland France for some nationalities. Check the rules for your passport before booking flights. Bring your passport to check-in.

What time is check-in and check-out on Yacht Week Tahiti?

Boarding is from 4pm Saturday at Raiatea Marina; your skipper confirms the exact time and meeting point in the Yacht Week app. Complete online check-in before you travel or you may be refused boarding. The fleet returns Friday around 3 to 4pm; you can sleep on board Friday night but must leave by 8am Saturday. Allow time for the hop back to Papeete before your international flight.

Are there lockers or luggage storage available at the marina for the Tahiti route?

There are no storage possibilities in the marina so we strongly recommend to pack light and in soft/duffle bags to be able to fit all your luggage on the yacht.

What is the average age, and is there an age restriction?

The average age of our guests is 30; however, we have a range of attendees varying from 20 to the late 30s and beyond.

Please note that the minimum age to join our events is 20 (or at least 20 years old in the year of travel).

We are confident that, regardless of your age, you will have a memorable time on the water!
